WHAT ARE FOCUS GROUPS?
Focus Groups offer ongoing help, hope and healing for life’s hurts, hang-ups, and habits. By attending one of our groups, we will be given the opportunity to learn how to grow through the progressive, practical application of Biblical principles relevant to life issues. It is a journey of becoming fully devoted to Jesus Christ and experiencing the fulfillment He has made available for everyone.
The purpose of focus groups is to allow individuals the opportunity to become open and transparent with God, themselves and others. We share our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another as we work to apply the Biblical principles found in the Beatitudes or other curriculum provided. As a result, we grow spiritually and become more willing to accept God’s grace in solving life’s problems.
This process allows us to be changed from the inside out. We overcome mistrust, anger, addictions, hurt, rejection, compulsions, unforgiveness, and other life-issues. In their place we receive peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger relationship with God and others. Each person in a focus group will be at a different place in the journey, but all of us are there because we realize we need each other – we need support, encouragement, care, and a sense of belonging.
Our desire at Calvary Missionary Church is to provide a place where we can be real. It is a safe place where we can struggle through questions and difficulties of life – a place where we can heal, grow, and serve.
